Artscape 2010 this weekend!

The country’s largest free arts festival calls Baltimore’s Bolton Hill neighborhood  it’s home and we’re excited to welcome visitors from all over for this three-day festival, July 16 – 18. Headline performers include Musiq Soulchild (Friday), Gov’t Mule (Saturday) and Wale (Sunday).  More than 50 bands are scheduled to perform on four stages for a jam-packed weekend of live entertainment.  Enjoy dance, opera, theater, film, fashion, family events and international foods.  Visit www.artscape.org for more info.

If you’re staying with us at 1840s Carrollton Inn this weekend, you’re just blocks from the art and entertainment.  Our advice is to take advantage of the local metro, MTA and the free Charm City Circulator to get to and from the festivities.  Following are some suggested routes:

  • Stroll a few short blocks north on S. Front Street to the Shot Tower Metro stop.  Take the line headed towards Owings Mills and hop off at State Center Cultural Center.  From there, it’s about a 9-minute walk to the Artscape action.
  • Hop on the Charm City Circulator (Orange Route)  just outside the Inn’s entrance at Albemarle Square.  Get off at the Charles Street stop and then transfer to the Purple Route and ask the driver for the closest stop to Artscape.
  • Take the Charm City Circulator (Orange Route) to Howard Street and transfer to the Light Rail.  Hop off at Mt. Royal or State Center/Cultural Center and you should be in the midst of the excitement.
