“Having enjoyed a stay at the Gramercy Mansion, a sister property in Lutherville, Md, a suburb of Baltimore, we decided to check out the 1840s Carrollton Inn. We go to Baltimore every 6 months, and, then for two visits for two weeks apart. For several years he have been staying in a very pleasant dog-friendly inn in nearby Fells Point. It is a pleasant place & I would return to it if I had with me a dog or needed to be in Fells Point. The Inn is on the fringe of Little Italy, quite close to the old “Inner Harbor” section of Baltimore. The Inn offers a great value to persons going to Johns Hopkins. And the breakfasts are as elegant and sumptuous as those offered at the Gramercy Mansion. The Inn is near one of the famed “Shot Towers” in Baltimore if that helps you further with determining if its location is good for you. Finding the entrance to it is a little tricky but our GPS took us to its entry which is on a one-way street. We had a truly magnificent room with a very elegant bath. The decor is not authentic 1840s Baltimore period pieces but — like the Gramercy — an imaginative mix of semi-antiques and reproduction Renaissance “Victorian” pieces. We had a king-size 4 poster bed, fireplace, a view of the courtyard, and jetted tub. I was impressed by how clean our room and the public spaces were, particularly in light of the “layered” look of the decor. Though the Inn has been established for 10 years a “white glove test” would not detect dust anywhere! The staff were very welcoming upon arrival as they also were at breakfast. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to explore the complex in which the Inn exists. The old Carroll mansion adjoins it, across a courtyard. The venue appears to be one that would be ideal for a wedding or anniversary party. There are signs that suggest that it includes a ballroom and theater in addition to the mansion which may be open as a museum only on weekends. We hope to explore it further upon return visits. We enjoyed it so much that we have already booked two additional visits.”

“What a great find! This is one of the cutest and well kept B&B’s I’ve ever stayed in. Not a single detail was overlooked from check in (and a personal tour to our room) to the (included!) breakfast. I can honestly say it’s the first time I’ve ever had a wake up call with a fresh pot of coffee outside of my door. Luckily we are close by Baltimore and make frequent trips because the location cannot be beat. If you love historic places and personalized accommodations, do yourself a favor and book here!”

“We loved getting married here last year and came back to celebrate our one year anniversary. As a wedding venue, it was a completely unique and beautiful spot with all the conveniences of being in the city. The staff was extremely helpful and ensured the day ran smoothly. I’m so happy we came back to the inn for our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond and it was a great weekend getaway!”

“Great location. Easy walking distance to Inner Harbor and even closer to Little Italy. A wonderful staff, very helpful: they made us feel like family. Loved the breakfast, we stayed two nights and tried different things each morning. The breakfast burritos are excellent! Parking was free and the lot was large enough for us to feel comfortable parking our full-size truck. We are already making plans to return to Baltimore and this B&B.”

“My wife and I didn’t quite know what to expect. The property looked nice when we saw it on line, and we wanted something within walking distance of the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards. Upon arriving we were greeted at the front desk by a pleasant and professional representative. After checking us in, she gave us a tour of the Inn. Following the tour she escorted us to our room and explained all of the amenities including the procedure for ordering breakfast. We took full advantage of that. Breakfast in the courtyard was fabulous. If we need to be in that area the next time we travel to Baltimore, The Carrollton Inn is where we’ll stay.”

“As a patient at John’s Hopkins University Hospital, we have had the opportunity to stay at the Inn on more than one occasion. All areas of service have been exemplary and this will continue to be our choice each and every time we visit the city.”

“We stayed in the Senators room, and it was lovely. The linens and towels were of high quality, and the decor was beautiful. The breakfast was a great way to start the day. Don’t skip the bananas and walnuts with honey. All of the staff members were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again, especially for the reasonable rate and accessible location.”
